Knowledge base
A knowledge base gives your assistants accurate, on-brand answers during calls. Content is chunked, embedded, and retrieved when the assistant needs it.
Content types
Outhub supports four content types:
- Texts — paste or upload plain text and documents.
- Q&A — structured question-and-answer pairs for common topics.
- Tables — tabular data the assistant can look up (pricing, hours, locations).
- Websites — crawl a site or sitemap so pages stay up to date.
Add content
- Open Knowledge Base from the sidebar.
- Pick a content type (Texts, Q&A, Tables, or Websites).
- Select Add and fill in the fields or upload a file.
- Wait for processing to finish — status moves from pending to ready when training completes.
Plan limits apply to how many items you can store and file sizes. Check Usage → Upgrade for your plan caps.
Train and link
After content is ready:
- Open Assistants and edit the assistant that should use it.
- In the knowledge step, attach one or more knowledge base items.
- Save and publish the assistant.
The assistant retrieves relevant chunks during the call instead of relying only on the system prompt.
Tips
- Start with your top 10 FAQs as Q&A pairs — fast to add and high impact.
- Keep answers concise; the assistant works best with clear, factual snippets.
- Re-crawl websites when your public content changes.
- Remove outdated items so the assistant does not cite stale information.
